English Description A distinctive circa-2013 SANDINISTA three-quarter sleeve plaid button-down shirt, combining classic American casual influences with the refined approach associated with the Japanese brand. The fabric immediately stands out with its rich multicolored plaid pattern. Deep navy forms the foundation, while red, light blue, white and muted tones intersect throughout the shirt, creating a sophisticated Madras-inspired appearance. SANDINISTA is a Japanese fashion brand known for reinterpreting familiar elements of American casual, workwear and traditional menswear through contemporary silhouettes, fabrics and thoughtful details. Rather than relying on excessive decoration, the brand has consistently produced clothing designed to remain practical and wearable in everyday wardrobes. This shirt is an excellent example of that philosophy. The collar features a classic button-down construction, with contrasting light-colored buttons providing a subtle traditional touch against the colorful plaid fabric. One of the most appealing characteristics is the approximately three-quarter-length sleeve design. It provides more coverage and refinement than a conventional short-sleeve shirt while remaining noticeably lighter than a standard long-sleeve style. This makes it particularly versatile from spring through summer and into early autumn. The chest also features an unusual horizontal pocket detail. Rather than using a conventional patch pocket, the construction incorporates the plaid fabric into a subtle but distinctive design element. From a distance it blends naturally into the pattern, while closer inspection reveals the attention given to the shirt’s construction. The fabric composition is particularly noteworthy: 84% cotton, 8% linen and 8% ramie. Cotton provides the familiar comfort and versatility expected from a casual shirt, while linen and ramie introduce the characteristic texture and lightweight quality associated with natural bast fibers. This composition works especially well with the shorter sleeve length, making the shirt an excellent choice for warmer seasons. The care label confirms that the garment was MADE IN JAPAN. Brand: SANDINISTA Tagged Size: SMALL Era: Circa 2013 Material: 84% Cotton / 8% Linen / 8% Ramie Made in Japan For an effortless casual outfit, combine it with faded blue denim, a plain white T-shirt and simple sneakers. Wearing it unbuttoned emphasizes the relaxed three-quarter sleeve silhouette. For a cleaner contemporary interpretation, pair it with black or charcoal wide trousers or tapered slacks. The strong plaid pattern provides enough visual character that the rest of the outfit can remain minimal. With its circa-2013 design, Japanese manufacture, cotton-linen-ramie fabric, button-down collar and distinctive three-quarter sleeves, this SANDINISTA shirt offers an excellent balance of classic styling and thoughtful Japanese design. #SANDINISTA #JapaneseFashion #PlaidShirt #MadrasPlaid #ThreeQuarterSleeve #ButtonDownShirt #MadeInJapan #LinenBlend #JapaneseDesigner #Menswear
